My Deepest Search Today

Today my vibrant heart did not receive that vital joy that the Word gives.

I wonder what really permeated from my encounter with God in the Word today?

My heart was a little sore instead of beating with joy like always.

I was so ready to start reading the amazing Book of Revelation. And I went into the narrative with great expectations. And my expectation turned into a probing question!

Would I be in that category?

Chapter one, verse 20 explains the mystery and at the same time disturbs my soul with the searching question: Would I be in that category? Am I one of those angels?

“This is the meaning of the mystery of the seven stars you saw in my right hand and the seven gold lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.” (Revelation 1:20 NLT).

Yes, I am in that category in the mystery!

The Lord lovingly responded to me with an amazing testimony. When I was struggling with my probing question, an emergency arose. A mother found out that her son was using drugs, she confronted him and he violently assaulted her.

The Holy Spirit gave me the powerful tool to minister to her and her devastation and hopelessness dissipated. She said that she entered into a peace that she had not experienced for a long time. And that is the confirmation : Yes, I am in that category in the mystery!

Praise God ! My deeper search today, is satisfied. So can yours. Just a little talk with Jesus will do it. Try it!

A Gray Afternoon

Without light, there is no colors.

When I think about colors, I know there is no such thing. There is no color, there is only light. No one can distinguish color in the absence of light.

I can enjoy the serenity and tranquility of this gray afternoon. The environment is loaded with humidity that blesses my plants. Gray is a very sophisticated color, I see it as a dim light that permeates the darkness and transforms it into a soft silvery gray.

Gray represents neutrality and balance. However, it carries some negative connotations, mainly when it comes to loss and depression. And so is our life, one moment everything is on balance, but all of the sudden some adversity visits us. And we are totally out of balance.

But the Holy Scriptures have wonderful promises to get us out of all calamities. And it’s so comforting to know that darkness has an expiration date.

“Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever… (Isaiah 9:1 NLT).

A Son is given, Jesus the Savior!

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” (Isaiah 9:2 NLT).

Problems, anxieties, sickness , poverty, etc., all of these darken our lives. But it doesn’t have to continue that way. God’s promise is fulfilled already!

“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).

You see that the Light has come, you no longer have to live in a gloomy environment. Because that Child who was given grew up and gave His life as a ransom for ours. We can enter into His light! Just ask Him to come to live in you.
